GIORGIO ARMANI MEN'S COLLECTION Spring/Summer 2008
Through a restored discipline of form, through the precise treatment of colour, a new mood asserts itself, rid of excess and ephemeral trends. A return to the pursuit of calmer rhythms, soaking up the experiences of a fuller, richer way of life.
The Sicilian way, under the sun, cooled by lightweight and airy materials, in breezy shades: labradorite green; muted whites like sun bleached walls; Armani greige like wet sand; opalescent blue for tailoring. Slim lapels, shawl collar, with clearly constructed shoulders create a more fitted silhouette, with less voluminous but never tight trousers.
The exceptional leatherwear explores the lightweight potential of openwork: python is paired with nappa and left unlined; weave effects with alligator skin in a special treatment with partially open scales.
The shoes also step out in the same tranquil and relaxed mood – with babouche moccasins, slit along the side and at the toe, also in python skin, and classic tennis shoes in natural tones. Washed and treated fabrics indulge the most subtle of all the senses - touch. T-shirts in shirt fabrics: traditional cuffs give long sleeved versions a precise finish, while short sleeved models feature a narrow border in silk knit.
Cool, refined, elegant.
