Giorgio Armani will dress selected nominees, presenters and guests at the 80th Annual Academy Awards, as well as guests at various events surrounding the Oscars.  The show will take place on Sunday evening, February 24th, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.  The Oscars will be telecast live on ABC beginning at 5:00 pm PST / 8:00 pm EST.

Tony Award-winning singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth, who will perform the nominated song “That’s How You Know” from “Enchanted,” will wear two looks by Giorgio Armani Privé.  On the red carpet, Kristin will wear a Privé black silk tulle gown that flows over a rose organza underlay.  The dress features a fitted bodice with a sweetheart neckline, replete with geometrically knotted and pleated tulle details.  A crisscross pattern highlights the back of the dress.  For her performance, she will wear an ethereal Privé organza gown of varying gradations of soft taupe.   The look is accented with origami-like ribbon flowers that cluster on the bodice in small bouquets, then cascade into larger appliqués in the skirting of the gown. The multi-layered dress is complete with a deep scooped back.   

Actress Ziyi Zhang will attend the Elton John Aids Foundation Academy Awards party on Oscar night, wearing a Giorgio Armani Privé violet silk gown.  The vibrant dress features a fitted bodice with a black and purple jeweled strapless neckline, accented with an organza abstract flower.  The skirt cascades with tiers of organza ruffles. 

Comedian, satirist, actor, writer and producer Jon Stewart will return to host the Oscars, this year wearing a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel wool crepe tuxedo.  The look will be completed with a classic spread collar evening shirt and black bowtie. Stewart is the star of Comedy Central’s highly successful “The Daily Show.”  This marks the 12th year Armani has participated in dressing the host of the Academy Awards. 

Nominee and presenter George Clooney will wear a Giorgio Armani Hand Made-to-Measure silk and wool shawl collar tuxedo with a classic spread collar shirt and bowtie.  He is nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his work in "Michael Clayton."

Johnny Depp, nominated in the category of Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, will wear a Giorgio Armani Made-to-Measure dark chocolate brown shawl lapel tuxedo and evening vest.  His custom designed shirt features an elongated collar and is complemented by a custom brown silk bowtie.  Depp is nominated for his role in "Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."

Nominated director Jason Reitman will wear a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic spread collar evening shirt and black necktie.  He is the nominated for Best Achievement in Directing for "Juno."  Reitman is the youngest director ever nominated in this category.

Italian Director Andrea Jublin will attend the Academy Awards wearing a Giorgio Armani tuxedo.  The director is nominated in the category of Live-Action Short Film for his work on “Il Supplente (The Substitute)."

Presenter Harrison Ford will wear a Giorgio Armani three-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and black necktie.  

Denzel Washington will present an Oscar during the awards ceremony wearing a Giorgio Armani one-button peak lapel tuxedo with a classic pique evening shirt and a black bowtie.

Director Martin Scorsese will present wearing a classic Giorgio Armani tuxedo.
  
Presenter John Travolta has selected a Giorgio Armani one-button peak lapel microfiber tuxedo.  He will complete the look with a white classic evening shirt and satin bowtie. 

Jack Nicholson, a presenter, is expected to wear a classic Giorgio Armani tuxedo.  

Director Spike Lee will attend the Oscars wearing a Giorgio Armani one-button peak lapel tuxedo with a pique spread collar evening shirt and a gray, black and blue scarf.  Lee will complete the look with a pair of white patent leather wing-tip shoes and a white fedora.

Actor Sean Penn is expected to attend the Elton John Aids Foundation Oscar event, attired in a black classic Armani suit with a white spread collar shirt. 

Actor Kevin Zegers will also attend the Elton John party.  He will wear an Emporio Armani two-button peak lapel navy pinstripe suit with a pale blue shirt and navy necktie.
