The essence of Italy. A heaven of pale but radiant colours, finely tuned bodies that showcase the physique, total sensual pleasure. Light, matt shades of colour – from chalk white to ice white, from raw to dove grey, from total white to lime plaster – emphasise a neo-classic look.
A new silhouette is proposed around the double breasted jacket, slim and sleek, without an excessively tailored cut, the shoulders unfussy. Alternatively, deconstructed with two buttons, worn instead of a shirt, cool and fresh with its silky lining, in striped, hound’s tooth or tone on tone shirt fabrics.
Lapels are slim with steel thread stiffeners along the hem – allowing the wearer to alter the proportions of the jacket in an unexpected way.
The new silhouette continues through the line of the trousers: with a nod to riding breeches, rounded on the thigh and tight over the calf. While those in tubular fabric may present a more traditional appearance, this is belied by the ease with which they can be shortened or rolled up.
In an interplay: the jacket becomes a shirt, the shirt itself possesses the simplicity of a niki: almost see-through to give a glimpse of the torso, in stylised yet sophisticated giraffe prints. The duster coat, an ultra-lightweight alternative to the jacket, creates a presence through its tailored shoulders and vents that slope gently to the hem. A tab collar version, in an Armani shade of putty, is paired with coordinated trousers in a modern variation on the suit.
In this thoroughly Italian collection, which freely mixes shapes and colours, the spirit is metropolitan sportswear best summed up by the leather gilet with embroidery effects, and the short bomber incorporating layers of linen, occasionally accentuated with trim. The knitwear - cardigans and pullovers - also appear delicate through the choice of pattern and colour.
